Women's Therapy: Unhealthy Relationships, Attachment Trauma, Identity, and Sexual Health.

Unhealthy Relationships (Attachment)

Do you find yourself in the same unhealthy partner dynamic, time and again? Have you hit a wall with why this may be happening? You may have an unhealthy attachment style. It can present as struggling with boundary setting/holding, partner pleasing, or intimacy avoidance/dependence. I can work with you on exploring your current attachment style, creating, and sustaining healthy boundaries with self and others, and cultivating healthy partnerships.

Attachment Trauma

Attachment Trauma is a rupture of emotional and/or physical safety and trust in a a deeply meaningful relationship. This can happen during early development, childhood, adolescence, and/or adulthood. Some of the effects of Attachment trauma are an inability to trust others, inexplicable anger,  grief, and disorientation. These struggles can be devastating and long lasting, but do not mean you are "broken" or destined to be alone in the world. Attachment Trauma work, is usually a deeper therapeutic work that looks at an attachment template laid down in your childhood and how it may be playing out in your current life.

Women's Issues

I work with the following issues and more: Body image, aging and sexuality, struggles with conception and infertility, choice around being a parent or not, perfectionism, and societal expectations.

Sexual Health

"Sexual health is a state of physical, mental and social well-being in relation to sexuality. It requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence." (World Health Organization, retrieved 2018)
